The Last RAC run of 2010. Sat Sept 25 7AM
There is just one water stop at silver lake so there is a few options,
MTC and Chicago marathoners will just run 10 miles (cutting out the Viola hill loop)
and Whistle stop and others can get in 15 with Viola hill (lucky for you hill lovers).
See You Saturday.

Fall Marathon
I finally signed up for a fall marathon, Rails to Trails in Norwalk, WI on Nov 7th. I run much better in the cold that should be late enough in the season to insure cool temps(hopefully the snow is not flying). If any one knows of another runner doing this race let me know, maybe we can meet up for a couple of long runs to finish the fall season, and possibly car pool to the race. the more the merrier.

First off I need to extend a congratulations to Jen Bradt for her domination of the Square lake half Ironman. Third place overall women and first place in her age group, (WOW great job!) At the run turn around I was completely spent and she went by me like I was standing still (I may have been).
RAC run Saturday Sept 18 7AM
This run is 17.7 miles, 15.8 if you cut out the silver lake loop

windy city
I usually keep my post limited to Saturday runs but I am in Chicago this week and had a great day biking and running, and wanted to post some pics from the lake front trail.
from the hotel.
Adler planetarium with a statue of Copernicus, the guy who first postulated the earth goes around the sun (heliocentric).
The Shedd Aquarium
Buckingham fountain
A Pic from the lakeside of the McCormick center (where I’m working)
<
So many people were out tonight along the lake (great people watching) and the night was perfect for a good workout I had a hard time stopping.
Next time your in Chicago I highly recommend checking out the lake shore trail. Also I found a swim area at the edge of the lake that at least 20 – 30 people were swimming, looks like I’m bringing my wetsuit next week (a little warm up for square lake)
Hope everyone is enjoying the cooler weather.

RAC run Saturday Sept 4th 7am
hopefully everyone had a good rochester half race. this week is a little lower mileage than we have been doing (it's stated as 16 but is 17&1/3 Ish) I had to modify the original route at the start due to the construction on the south side of the RAC but this post will be the course I chalk.

RAC run Saturday August 14, 7AM
It's supposed to be a 18 mile but actuality it ends up being 20.
This is one of my favorites with what I affectionately call Renee's revenge (Fox valley drive hill)during the first part of it, After that a long section is on the trail so there should be some shade.
KEEP COOL.

10000
I day for celebration, I just broke 10000 documented running miles, I started my excel spreadsheet log on July 4 2002 and have been logging every run religiously, after mile 7 of today’s run the odometer officially flipped from 4 places deep to 5. It is a nice feeling. I'm in Chicago this week and the trails just cleared from ice today, hurray;
finally being able to run on trails again is a wonderful feeling of finally being released from the winters grip (hopefully not celebration too early). Today it hit 68 degrees here it felt so good I started out intending to run 6 miles but ended up with 12.

Picking back up
So I've been a little laxed in my blog postings, but with marathon training starting soon, I'd like to post the routes for the upcoming weeks run hopefully by the previous Wednesday.
I'm not sure what happened, either the half marathon route practice run, moving some heavy equipment around in my garage or snowboarding with my 5 year old, something seriously torqued my left hip socket and I haven't been able to run for almost 4 weeks now. I did go out and ran 1 mile Tuesday but found it a little sore still, happily though it did not aggravate it afterwards, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
anyway I think I'll start posting again more frequently
